United Luv Donates iPads to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital for Patient Use

October 1, 2013

Bozeman Deaconess Hospital patients will soon have access to iPads to be used during their treatments and hospital stays thanks to a generous donation by United Luv.

Ryan Eaton, a budding graphic designer, was given an iPad by his parents, Vicki and Sheldon Eaton of Billings, to use while he was undergoing cancer treatment. Ryan noticed that many other patients were often without company during their long hospital visits. Inspired to help others, Ryan and his brother Dallas Eaton, established United Luv, a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide iPads to patients as a distraction from treatments and/or hospital stays

Ryan lost his battle with cancer early in 2013, but his family has continued his legacy by gifting iPads to hospitals across Montana. United Luv will be gifting 9 iPads to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. The gift will be matched by 9 additional iPads purchased by Bozeman Deaconess Foundations Health Information Center Endowment fund. Departments receiving the iPads include the Cancer Center, Surgical Floor, Medical floor, Family Birth Center, Surgery, Internal Medicine Associates Infusion area and Spiritual Care.

United Luv will present the donated iPads during a press conference at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2 in the hallway adjacent to the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital Conference Center. Kevin Pitzer, BDHS President and CEO will be receiving the iPads on behalf of the hospital and acknowledging United Luvs generous donation.
